Square Wooden Painting Palette — Solid Wood Oil & Gouache Tray
Product description
This square painting palette measures 24 x 30 cm (9.4 x 11.8 in) and weighs about 292 g. It is crafted from solid wood and finished in a deep brown / merlot tone that gives it a rich surface for mixing pigments.
The board is cut into a square shape with gently curved corners and an integrated thumb hole so you can hold it comfortably while you work. The surface accepts watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil-based paints, and can be wiped or rinsed clean between uses for quick turnover.
Only one palette is included in the package. The wood construction provides a stable, long-lasting base for mixing and laying out colors. The board is lightweight enough for outdoor painting yet robust for regular studio use.
Because sizes are measured manually, there may be slight variations from the listed dimensions. Finishes can appear different across displays, so the actual color may lean toward a reddish-brown in some units. Small surface or edge irregularities can occur and are cosmetic rather than performance-related.
Pros
- Solid wood construction
- Comfortable thumb hole and curved corners
- Works with oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor
Cons
- Finish color can vary between units
- Edges may need additional smoothing
- Occasional transit damage reported
VerdictA simple, sturdy wooden palette that provides a generous working surface and comfortable handling thanks to rounded corners and a thumb hole. It supports watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil paints and is easy to rinse or wipe between sessions. Finish color can differ from images and some buyers report edge roughness or occasional transit damage, but for everyday use it performs well for hobbyists

Spacious surface
Plenty of room for mixing paints, the dark finish looks good and it holds comfortably in hand.

Could be smoother
Edges could use more sanding, but otherwise it performs well.

Color and fit
The finish is more red-brown than plain brown, which I like. Size is fine but it feels awkward in my left hand.
