Use sparingly when adding to oil paints; experiment with ratios to reach your desired working consistency while maintaining color integrity. StudioSolv is configured with a higher flashpoint (144°F), which classifies it as a combustible liquid under DOT rules and contributes to a slower evaporation rate compared with more volatile solvents.
Do not use StudioSolv with natural resin-based mediums such as dammar, copal, or mastic—those are better matched to traditional turpentine. Although aromatic solvents have been removed to minimize smell, adequate ventilation and standard solvent safety practices are recommended at all times.

Solid OMS alternative with SDS details
SDS lists evaporation rate around 0.09 and flashpoint 144°F, similar to other odorless mineral spirits. Toxicity entries show LD50 (oral, rat) >5,000 mg/kg and inhalation LC50 >5,000 mg/m³ (4h). VOC content is listed at 765 g/L. I couldn't detect any odor in normal use.

Comparable to established OMS options
After using Gamsol and Turpenoid, I found no performance differences. It's low-odor, clear, and suitable for cleaning, thin washes, underpainting, and medium preparation. I reviewed MSDS details: Gamblin provided the most inhalation data, Tusc & Pine supplied usable info, while Turpenoid lacked measurement specifics.

Light scent, versatile performance
Bottle arrived clearly labeled with a thin foil seal. I noticed only a very light scent. It thinned about 90% of my acrylics without shifting color, helped blend colored pencils, and aided resin bubble release. Slightly thinner than some solvents I've used but worked well; the 1 L size is convenient.

Handy 1 L bottle, child-proof and nearly scentless
Clear liquid in a child-resistant bottle with an inner seal. Useful for thinning oils and cleanup. Very low odor in my experience. Remember that rags and waste remain a fire risk and must be handled and disposed of safely. I'd buy it again.
