Bushnell Broadhead Hunting Laser Rangefinder — Archery Precision
Product description
This Broadhead hunting laser rangefinder is built for archery and bowhunting, with performance tuned for 3D targets, target bales and animal hides. It delivers industry-leading consistency — tested to provide ±0.3 yard accuracy out to 150 yards across a variety of targets and lighting situations.
The Full Spectrum ranging system addresses low-reflectivity and dark targets, giving consistent distance readings where some units struggle. An ActivSync display automatically shifts the reticle and readout from black to red for maximum contrast against different backgrounds, improving readability in bright or dim conditions.
For angled shots the unit uses ARC (Angle Range Compensation) with about ±1° angle accuracy to compute true horizontal distance as well as line-of-sight distance, so uphill and downhill shots can be compensated for. Near and far ranging modes let you select brush mode to ignore foreground clutter such as branches, or bullseye mode to lock onto small targets without accidentally picking up background objects.
The Broadhead is compact and pocket-friendly with a smooth plastic exterior and precision internal optics; it feels lightweight compared with some higher-priced models but performs reliably. A sturdy lanyard is included for secure carry. Typical use cases include archery practice, competition ranging (20–80 yard target work), 3D shoots, and field bowhunting where fast, repeatable distances matter.
Pros
- Consistently accurate to ±0.3 yd out to 150 yd
- ActivSync auto-adjusting reticle for clear readout
- Angle compensation (ARC) for true horizontal distance
Cons
- Exterior housing feels like smooth plastic rather than rugged metal
- Occasional reports of unit failures after limited use
- Very dark, low-light backgrounds can still challenge visibility
VerdictHighly accurate and designed for archery use, this Broadhead unit gives reliable ranges on dark and small targets, a readable adaptive reticle, and angle-compensated distances. Good value and pocketable, though the plastic outer housing can feel a bit light and rare reliability issues have been reported.

Handy for 3D competitions
Two seasons of use and it's helped my scores. Angle compensation gave me an edge at longer yardages.

Accurate and easy to read
Great value — numbers switch red or black depending on background and accuracy is excellent. The outer plastic could feel more premium, but the internal optics perform very well.

Wouldn't hunt without it
I love how the reticle switches to red in low light. It’s become essential gear for my hunts.

Stopped working after short time
Worked great initially but failed after a month. I changed the battery with no improvement. The numbers and lens became fuzzy and the red reticle stopped switching on dark targets. Very disappointing.

Straightforward, reliable replacement
I swapped out a cheap unit for this one and it’s been surprisingly dependable. I use it at archery tournaments and find it rivals pricier models. The included lanyard is strong and well made.

Preferable to a pricier model I tried
I returned an expensive brand that had poor reticle visibility and picked this instead. It felt lighter out of the box but has worked flawlessly for months. The adaptive reticle feature is especially useful.

Excellent for archery distances
Designed with archers in mind, it matched tape-measured distances on competition bales (20–80 yd). Fast scanning and generally easy to read; more consistent than a comparable model I tried, especially for tenths of a yard.
