HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Inkjet Printer — Wireless
Product description
The HP OfficeJet 250 is a compact mobile all-in-one that combines printing, scanning and copying in a package designed for travel. The box ships with the printer itself and a rechargeable battery so you can use it unplugged. The unit has a color 2.65-inch touchscreen for on-device control and a 10-page automatic document feeder to handle short multipage jobs hands-free.
This model supports a wide array of paper sizes, including Letter, Legal, Statement, Executive, many photo sizes (8x10, 5x7, 4x6, 3.5x5), cards (3x5, 4x6, 5x8) and common envelopes (No. 10, Monarch, 6 3/4). It accepts Original HP 62 ink cartridges, which are designed to provide higher page yields compared with some alternatives.
Connectivity focuses on mobile and wireless use: print and scan from laptops, tablets or smartphones via Wi‑Fi, direct wireless connection or the HP Smart app, which also links to cloud services like iCloud, Dropbox and Google Drive. HP Auto Wireless Connect makes initial setup straightforward, and the printer can be charged from an AC outlet or in a vehicle. With HP Fast Charge, the battery can reach a high charge level relatively quickly when the unit is powered off during charging.
The chassis uses a lightweight plastic shell for portability and is sized to fit into a briefcase, backpack or vehicle cabinet. A one-year limited hardware warranty provides basic coverage for defects during normal use.
Pros
- Truly portable with built-in rechargeable battery
- Wireless printing and scanning via mobile app and cloud services
- Supports many paper and photo sizes plus a 10-page ADF
Cons
- Original ink cartridges are costly
- Wireless setup or connectivity can be finicky
- Construction feels lightweight; hinges could be stronger
VerdictThe OfficeJet 250 is a genuinely portable AIO for professionals who need printing, scanning and copying away from a fixed office. It delivers strong print quality and convenient mobile app integration, with long battery endurance and quick charging. Expect occasional wireless setup or connectivity quirks and higher ongoing ink costs, but overall it’s a capable travel-ready printer.

Handy for drivers and frequent travelers
I use this on the road as an owner-operator. It stows neatly in my truck cabinet and sits on the bed when I need it. Prints fast and with good quality. I rarely get paper jams, even with wrinkled or dry pages, though very damaged sheets may need to be fed one at a time. The ADF is limited to about 10–15 pages at once. I’ve created much larger combined files using HP’s software. It didn’t connect smoothly to an older notebook I have, but it links well to my phone hotspot and is simple to get online otherwise.

Durable and still running after years
I’ve owned this for eight years and it keeps going. Print quality remains excellent and cartridges last a reasonable time. I store it away when not in use and transport it in a carrying case. Has been dependable for daily tasks.

Great color output but ink costs are annoying
This produces nice color prints and travels well in a protective case. Wireless printing can be fiddly at times—looks like spooler or driver issues on some systems. Original cartridges are expensive and aftermarket inks are much cheaper, which feels unfair. Despite that, the printer’s performance is excellent.

Excellent at first but Wi‑Fi failure changed my view
Initially it was flawless and I stuck to original cartridges to avoid complications. After some time the Wi‑Fi stopped working and support could not resolve it despite many hours on chat and phone. They opened a case but follow-up never came. A local technician diagnosed a faulty wireless module and recommended warranty replacement, but I was left in limbo because remote support stalled.

Reliable mobile printing from phone or laptop
This compact AIO has simplified my travel workflow. Wireless setup was straightforward and I can print from both my phone and laptop without cables. The unit is small enough to carry to meetings and produces vibrant color and crisp text. Scanning and copying are convenient, and the battery lasts through multiple jobs, so I can print on the move without worrying about an outlet.

Useful, compact and dependable so far
We live in a small condo, so this fits perfectly and doesn’t take up space. It feels well built for travel and I bought a carrying case. It handled my corporate tax documents and scans nicely into email as PDFs. Haven’t printed photos yet, but for documents and scanning it’s been solid during the first month.

Great hardware, frustrating support
The printer itself is solid and wireless printing from phones, tablets and laptops works well. However, tech support was nearly useless when I ran into an issue where multiple virtual printer entries caused the wrong one to be selected, making the device appear offline. I spent hours troubleshooting with online tools and virtual assistants that didn’t resolve it, and could not get helpful phone support.

Compact and convenient for small offices
Bought it for labels and occasional bills and now keep it in my small office. It’s carried in the car or hotel when needed and otherwise tucked away. Small footprint, easy to move, and prints from phone or computer with minimal fuss.

Delivery failed; didn’t receive the printer
The item was supposed to arrive Monday for a trip but never showed up. I couldn’t wait and purchased another one locally.

Works well after initial setup hiccups
Setup required downloading a troubleshooter, but once running it’s been excellent. I print pictures and PDFs directly from my phone and the battery lasts—charging weekly during heavy use. Scanning to my computer works well; scanning directly to email from the printer gives occasional errors so I scan to my PC and send from there. I wish the build were a bit more rugged for mobile use; metal hinges would help.
