Fluval Zeo-Carb Chemical Filter Media Pack for Freshwater Aquariums

Product description

Compatibility: Formulated to work with many Fluval filter models, including 104, 105, 106, 204, 205, 206, 304, 305, 306, 404, 405, 406, plus FX5 and FX6 units.

What’s in the pack: Each purchase contains three pre-filled nylon bags, each holding 150 grams of blended media for a total of 450 grams. The pouches are ready to drop into filter chambers or canister baskets.

Media composition and function: Zeo-Carb combines a natural ion-exchange zeolite designed to bind and remove toxic ammonia with a premium, low-ash activated carbon. The carbon is highly porous to trap organic impurities, discoloration and odors, while the zeolite targets dissolved ammonia as water passes through the media.

Intended use and care: This formula is intended for freshwater aquariums only. Place the filled nylon bags in the chemical/media section of your filter so water flows across them. For consistent results, swap the bags about once a month; doing so also frees internal filter space to add other mechanical or biological media if you wish.

Brand note: Fluval has been producing aquarium filtration systems and media for decades and is known for integrating effective filtration stages into consumer filters. This blended media reflects that focus by combining two chemical approaches into a single, easy-to-install product.

Pros

  • Combined ammonia removal and activated carbon in one pouch
  • Three 150 g nylon bags ready to drop into filters
  • Fits most canister and compatible Fluval filter models

Cons

  • Formulated only for freshwater aquariums
  • Requires monthly replacement for optimal results
  • Single-use media—cannot be regenerated

VerdictA practical two-in-one chemical media that pairs ion-exchange zeolite with high-porosity activated carbon. Easy to install in most canister and power filters, it clears discoloration and odors while reducing toxic ammonia, making it a reliable choice for freshwater setups when swapped regularly.
