TOMLOV P50 Handheld Digital Microscope — Portable 2.4" IPS Viewer
Product description
Designed for everyday close-up work, the TOMLOV P50 is a pocket-friendly handheld digital microscope intended for inspecting coins, stamps, gems, jewelry, fabrics, rocks, circuit boards, watch components, and plant surfaces. It’s useful for coin and stamp collectors, jewelers, gardeners, students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and hobbyists who want quick, detailed views without complex setup.
The device has a 2.4" IPS display that provides a clear, bright preview for observing trichomes, leaf veins, small engravings, and other fine features. A tactile focus wheel lets you move between extreme close-up detail and a wider view of the whole object. The body is built from lightweight plastic, making it easy to hold for extended inspection sessions; the unit measures roughly 4.1 x 2.4 inches and weighs about 3 oz.
Lighting is handled by six built-in LEDs with four selectable brightness levels to reduce shadows and improve detail visibility under different conditions—handy for gems, hallmarks, solder joints, and surface texture. The camera captures 3MP stills and records 1080p video; photos can be saved to internal storage, while video capture requires a microSD card (not supplied). Included accessories are an EVA protective case and a lanyard for carry and storage.
For workstation use, the P50 can connect to a PC or Mac so you can view magnified subjects on a larger monitor—beneficial when inspecting circuit board traces, watch gears, or fabric weave during longer sessions. Its compact, portable design is aimed at quick inspections both in the field and at home.

Handy pocket microscope
Great for quick checks of tiny details. Perfect to carry when I'm out hunting for coins or examining small objects.

Transformative for coin collecting
I bought this for my husband who started collecting coins and it changed how he documents finds. The camera plus storage makes cataloging easy. It worked straight out of the box and after about eight months of near-daily use he has had no problems.

Excellent for observing insect larvae
I used an earlier model for over a year and the image detail was impressive. I take it into the field for macroinvertebrate sampling in streams; it's great for IDs and as a teaching aid. I just picked up the smaller P50 to test this fall. Customer support has been responsive.

I'd steer clear because of the stand
The microscope itself works well, but the stand is a major flaw. The part that attaches the scope never screwed in correctly for me and ground away metal. It's very unstable and tips over easily. When I can keep it steady it performs fine, but the mounting is unreliable.

Ideal for PCB and micro-soldering work
I've used this for about a year for hobby micro soldering and it's performed very well. Lighting options are helpful but I rarely need the side LEDs. Kids enjoy peeking at tiny things too. It won't show cellular detail, but it reveals insect parts, fingerprint grooves, and other small textures. It gets a lot of use at home.

Sharp images, wish the screen was larger
Image quality is great. My only regret is not choosing the model with a bigger external display option.

Truly impressive tool for coin analysis
This unit is excellent for examining coins. I like that it connects to a computer without special drivers. Previous microscopes I owned were not as efficient. I recommend the microscope and the company's support.

Does exactly what I need — image about 7/10
This scope has helped with many small soldering tasks. Pros: extreme close zoom, decent image with good lighting (about 7/10), plastic guard protects the lens, includes cables and internal battery, and focus adjustments are robust. Cons: built-in screen can show artifacts or hot spots (external monitor helps), occasional banding that lights/zooming fixes, working area could be larger and heavier, and the LED arms are short.

Portable scope with strong magnification — would repurchase
I've used it about six weeks and am happy so far. It arrived well packed and needs minimal assembly—an adjustable wrench helps for securing the stand. Video mode shows slightly lower magnification than camera mode. Operation is straightforward and camera mode is ideal for coin inspection. You can use it handheld but it takes a steady hand.

Solid compact microscope — no major complaints
I use this for fine soldering and small projects. My older stereo microscope is awkward to use for quick jobs, so this unit is much more convenient. It records stills and video to microSD and even includes a remote. Display and lights are clear, and focus is easy to achieve.
