Presto 05466 Dual-Basket Pro Fry Immersion Deep Fryer
Product description
The unit is constructed with stainless steel and aluminum components and ships imported. It includes an extra-large enameled pot and two oblong fry baskets; the baskets are shaped to accommodate larger pieces such as chicken or fish. A spatter-shield cover with a charcoal air filter is supplied to help reduce splattering and tamp down frying odors.
The fryer uses an 1800-watt immersion heating element that plugs into the housing and immerses into the oil for quick preheating and strong heat recovery after food is added. An adjustable thermostat allows selection of a range of frying temperatures, and a signal light indicates when the oil has reached the set temperature and is ready for frying.
For cleaning and storage the heating element and the enameled pot both lift out, and the frying baskets and element can be nested inside the pot to save cabinet space. The system comes with a one-year limited warranty. For best performance the fryer accepts a maximum of 5 quarts of oil and a minimum fill of 3½ quarts, giving a food capacity of about 12 cups.

Does what it needs to — room for improvement
It uses over a gallon of oil, and the baskets are shallower than my old fryer, so I sometimes have to do a second batch for larger meals. Still, it heats up well, maintains temperature, and cleanup is manageable since the bin is removable. A small dent arrived in my main basin but it didn’t affect performance.

Crispy results and handy two-basket layout
This fryer changed how I make fried foods at home. The two baskets let me cook different items at once, cutting meal time. The unit holds heat well and recovers temperature quickly after adding frozen items, so things come out crisp. The stainless finish feels sturdy and looks good on the counter.

Still dependable after heavy use
Bought in 2021 and still going in 2024. I fry large amounts regularly — have done dozens of pounds of wings and fish — and it has held up. Oil heat recovery is quick when I use the lid. Cleaning is straightforward; I boil the baskets separately to strip grease. Two small gripes: removing the enameled pot when full is awkward and the metal under the lid can loosen over long use, but neither has stopped it from working.

Heats oil quickly and operates safely
Very good fryer — heats oil fast, is safe to use, shuts off when it reaches the set temperature and restarts as needed to maintain heat.

Uplevels home frying with ready-to-go convenience
This fryer makes it easy to produce impressive fried dishes. Dual baskets let you keep items separate, and the unit is usually ready in about 20 minutes after plugging in. When finishing, tuck it away to avoid lingering oil in the kitchen.

Good for small food-service use
I bought a used one nearly two years ago and it still runs despite a few drops. I purchased a second as backup. It’s cost-effective for selling fries and nuggets every day and is gentle on oil and electricity.

Works very well for wings and fries
I’ve had this a few weeks and used it several times for wings. It performs great and the two baskets make it easy to keep fries and wings separate. The lid cut down on splatter. Solid value.

Performs well despite cosmetic damage
I bought a unit with damaged packaging and a one-inch dent on the back. It isn’t cosmetic to me, and the fryer reaches higher temperatures than my old model for crisper results, though it did take a bit longer to get up to temp. Overall satisfied.

Ample capacity for wing lovers
I wanted a fryer that could handle more than a few wings at a time and this one fits the bill. It’s sturdy enough for frequent use. Setup was easy; the cord is short so it requires a nearby outlet. I keep it in the garage to avoid frying smells in the house, and it’s worked reliably there.

Consistent results for family meals
We’ve used it many times for popcorn chicken, wings and fries, and everything cooks quickly and evenly. Heats in about 15 minutes. It uses a lot of oil, which enables cooking larger batches. The outer housing feels flimsy but has held up so far; I’ll update if that changes.

Reliable unit with a simple fix for accuracy
The fryer works well; I removed a small metal bracket near the sensors so the thermostat reads more accurately. Other than the heating element, parts are dishwasher-safe and the basin corners make pouring filtered oil easy. A minor household fix but otherwise a solid performer.

Outperforms expectations for home frying
Frying isn’t always ideal at home, but when you want true fry-shop results this unit delivers. It handled twice-fried fries, tempura and beer-batter experiments very well. The power and temperature control make it easy to get consistent, golden results for a variety of battered and breaded foods.
