Arm & Hammer Rimmed Cat Litter Pan with High Walls and Microban
Product description
This product is a single rimmed litter pan with an integrated high rim designed to hold liners and limit scatter. The unit measures 18.7" long by 15.5" wide and 10.6" tall, offering an XL footprint compared with standard low pans.
The pan is produced in the United States from recycled plastic, and the surface contains an antimicrobial odor-control treatment (Microban) incorporated into the material to help discourage odor-causing bacteria. For ongoing freshness, manufacturers recommend replacing the box roughly once a year.
The tall walls make it suitable for indoor cats that tend to kick or dig, and they also help when using finer litters or varieties that can be prone to tracking. It accepts a range of litter types — clumping, crystal, pine, and similar formulas — so owners can use their preferred product. The design keeps liners in place and simplifies scooping without needing to fully remove the rim for everyday maintenance.
Pros
- High walls reduce scatter and secure liners
- Built-in antimicrobial odor control
- Made from recycled plastic in the USA
Cons
- Not very large for cats that prefer extra length
- Top rim can feel lightweight for heavy use
- Some users report a loose lid fit
VerdictThis rimmed litter pan is a practical pick for owners who want to cut down on tracked litter and contain messes. The raised sides secure liners and reduce spills, while the antimicrobial finish helps limit odors. It fits a variety of litter types and is constructed from recycled plastic in the U.S. — a sensible option for many households, though some cats (and owners) may prefer a larger footprint

Should've tried it sooner
Exactly what I needed to stop constant sweeping and stray litter. The taller sides solved the problem and it was simple to put together. I wish I’d switched to this style years ago.

Does the job with splash guard
The splash shield is a bit flimsy, but once attached it keeps litter in the tray. My cat tends to make a splashy entrance and this setup keeps the mess contained.

Handy small-size option
I like this compact pan and the raised rim keeps litter contained. I have three big cats; the smallest prefers this one, though the others will use it occasionally. Cleaning is easy and it keeps the mess down.

Kitten’s new favorite spot
Assembly took a little patience and my kitten hopped inside before I finished. Now he camps out in it and won’t let me move him. It’s been an unexpected hit.

Smaller than anticipated
I overlooked the measurements and it’s a bit shorter than I expected. The tall sides are useful and the pan feels reasonably sturdy but light. If your cat is longer than average, double-check dimensions — I may have been better off buying a longer model.

Too small
Far too small for my cat.

Poor quality
Really low-quality. It was cheap but unfortunately not usable.

Functional but lid fit issues
Decent size but the lids don’t sit securely on the tray and feel a bit flimsy.

Disappointed — feels flimsy
Construction seems cheap and the lid-to-edge connection is weak. My young cat already seems cramped; I wouldn’t recommend this one for larger kittens or cats.

Works for a kitten
Fits well inside an enclosure we use for travel and early training. Not suitable for larger adults — our kitten is already nearing the limit at six months.

Litter scatter finally under control
I bought two and after several days the tracking problem has mostly disappeared. Previously I was vacuuming constantly. Others mentioned the top can pop loose, but mine sit under a folding counter and slide for cleaning without coming apart. Scooping is simple without removing the rim. I do wish they were a touch bigger since my cats used larger pans before, but they’re using these fine so far.
