Poultry Feed Topper — Chicken Supplement with Oregano & Garlic (400g)
Product description
This supplement is a dry, plant-based blend created as an everyday feed topper for backyard hens and laying birds. The pack contains oregano, garlic powder, capsicum (Capsicum annuum), chili flakes, black pepper and flaxseed, combined to add flavor, texture and some nutritional variety to standard layer rations.
Packaged in a 400 g (14.1 oz) resealable container, the product is intended to be mixed into a larger feed portion or sprinkled directly over layer feed. The labeling advises use only for chickens aged 10 weeks and older, to introduce the blend gradually, and to follow the feeding guide printed on the tub. Always make sure birds have fresh water when supplementing their diet.
This mix is not a veterinary medicine and is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. It is designed to complement, not replace, a balanced poultry diet. Flaxseed provides fatty acids that can influence yolk color and feather condition; the oregano and garlic are there for their traditional use in supporting general digestive and immune-related wellbeing. The product is suitable for routine daily use in small flocks when applied according to directions.
Pros
- Easy to sprinkle or mix into layer feed
- Made from familiar plant-based ingredients
- Resealable 400 g container for routine use
Cons
- May need frequent top-ups for larger flocks
- Not a replacement for veterinary care

VerdictA convenient, all-natural herb and spice blend that makes it simple to add familiar plant ingredients to daily layer feed. The 400g tub holds enough for routine topping or mixing; directions recommend starting small and keeping water available. It’s gentle, chemical-free, and straightforward to use for small backyard flocks, though heavy feeders may find frequent replenishment necessary. Overall,

Chickens like it, but can be expensive to keep up long-term
The blend of oregano, garlic, chili, black pepper, chili flakes and flaxseed livens up their ration and the hens seem to enjoy it. I mixed an entire tub into about 50 lb of feed and they consumed it readily. The flaxseed appears to enrich yolk color and provide omega-3s. It works well for small backyard flocks or owners who don’t have fresh herbs available, but monthly use for larger groups could become expensive.

Simple to add and keeps well — supports overall flock health
This supplement combines chili (Capsicum annuum), black pepper, oregano, garlic powder, chili flakes and flaxseed into a single tub. It brings together ingredients people often use for pest control and those commonly used for immunity support. I followed the daily feeding guide and mixed the tub into a 50 lb bag of layer feed, dividing it among feeders. The mixed feed that remained I sealed in a container for later use. My birds accepted it and I appreciate the convenience and familiar ingredients.

Highly recommended — my flock eagerly eats it
After a few weeks of adding this herbal-chili mix to their layer feed, my hens went from cautious to enthusiastic. The powder is easy to apply as a topper and the seal on the 400 g tub keeps it fresh. I like that it’s all plant-derived—oregano, garlic, capsicum, flaxseed and black pepper—and that there’s no need to worry about chemical residues or egg withdrawal. It’s a fuss-free way to support digestion and feather condition for birds over 10 weeks old.

Key ingredients for healthy layers but quantity concerns for big flocks
The tub contains Capsicum annuum, black pepper, oregano, garlic powder, chili flakes and flaxseed — a combination aimed at keeping birds healthy and productive. Despite sounding spicy, hens seem unfazed. Label guidance suggests mixing one tub into a 50 lb bag of feed; with many birds you’ll use multiple tubs each month, which may lead to cutting back the amount to keep things affordable.

Adds variety and interest to daily rations
I’ve been using this as a topper to give my flock extra aroma and texture. The oregano, garlic, capsicum and flaxseed produce a noticeable scent that attracts the chickens, and it’s easy to sprinkle on their regular feed. The 400 g jar is tidy and fits well in a feed area. I treat it as a supplement rather than a primary feed — it enhances meals without replacing a balanced diet.

Works well for my large free-range group
I run a fairly natural homestead and avoid synthetic additives, so this all-natural mix appealed to me. It contains ingredients I’d use myself, and buying the prepared blend turned out cheaper and easier than sourcing and blending each item at home. My many birds accepted it readily and I like having a practical, natural option to give regularly.
