8-Piece Professional Farrier Tool Kit with Roll-Up Pouch
Product description
This kit ships as an eight-piece farrier collection housed in a roll-up pouch for easy carry and organization. The set contains: a 14-inch double-sided horseshoe rasp with a detachable handle, a 16-inch farrier hoof nipper, a hoof knife, a multifunctional hoof trimming shear, a horseshoe/hoof brush, a rasp handle, a pair of protective gloves and a compact carry bag.
Materials and construction follow traditional farrier choices: the rasp is made from hardened T12 carbon steel with two cutting faces for rapid wall removal, the large nipper and shears are forged from durable metal alloys for strength, and the knife uses a double-sided blade with a wooden grip to dampen vibration and improve leverage. Handles combine wood and rubberized grips where indicated to enhance comfort during repetitive use.
Sizing is straightforward: the rasp measures about 14 inches overall; the hoof nipper is approximately 16 inches with a jaw opening near 2 inches at maximum. The set is designed for routine hoof trimming and tidying — removing excess hoof wall, rasping to shape, cutting overgrown nails, and cleaning the sole and frog with the brush and knife.
Use this kit for basic maintenance on horses and other livestock such as goats, sheep and alpacas. The nipper and shears handle bulk removal, the rasp refines the hoof profile, and the knife and brush perform detail work and cleaning. The roll-up pouch keeps components together for transport to the barn or field.
Pros
- Comprehensive eight-piece set
- Hardened carbon/steel construction
- Roll-up pouch for convenient transport
Cons
- Some tools arrive with modest sharpness
- Glove sizing can be inconsistent
- Rasp may need additional dressing for fine work
VerdictThis eight-piece farrier kit covers the essentials for routine hoof maintenance and light repairs. The tools are mostly robust, with carbon/steel construction and comfortable grips, and the roll pouch makes transport and storage straightforward. Expect some variation in sharpness between items — the nippers and rasp may require tuning or replacement by users needing professional-level edges. Overa

Decent but imperfect
Acceptable set overall; the nippers aren't as keen as my other pair. The gloves don't fit me well, so I rarely use them.

Great starter set for hobbyists
I'm not a professional farrier and use the set to tidy minor chips and imperfections between visits. The rasp and large nipper feel solid, and I've been able to file and cut small areas without issue. The knife is adequately sharp and the extras are handy. The pouch holds everything well, though the rasp can be a bit long for it. Overall a good fit for hobby use.

I bought this for a friend and he is very happy. He told me the tools worked well and he was fully satisfied with the farrier set; he recommends it.

Solid starter kit
Good entry set for home hoof care. Each piece feels sturdy and usable. The tool roll is a bit short for the rasp, so packing everything takes some adjustment, but it tucks away neatly with a little effort.

Rasp and nippers need sharper edges
You mostly get what was pictured. The rasp lacks bite and I ended up using a different file I had on hand. The nippers could be sharper too; with wrist issues they are harder for me to handle. Still useful for occasional work.
