Meccano 25-in-1 Motorized Supercar STEM Building Kit (Motor & Lights)
Product description
This motorized supercar construction kit is a 25-in-1 engineering set that lets builders construct one vehicle at a time from a wide range of supercar-inspired designs. The package contains 347 pieces, including an adjustable-speed 6V electrical motor with integrated LED light piping for working headlights and taillights, two real hand tools, metal nuts and bolts, wheels, sticker sheets for personalization, and one printed instruction sheet that details assembly for three starter models.
The components mix reusable metal fasteners and brackets with molded parts designed for structure and shape. The kit’s moving elements — the motor, gear assemblies and wheel components — combine to produce display-ready models that can also be run for light racing and demonstrations. Builders should supply four AAA batteries to power the motor (batteries not included).
Assembly is aimed at ages 10 and up and promotes STEM learning by teaching basic mechanical concepts, sequencing, hand-eye coordination and fine motor control. The included manual walks through three complete models; additional instructions and alternative builds are available online for those who want to explore more of the 25 possible configurations.
Pack dimensions are roughly 25 x 35 x 7 cm, making storage and transport straightforward. The set is part of the broader Meccano line and is intended for individual projects, shared family sessions, classroom use or as a gift for collectors and young engineers. The product is covered by the Spin Master Care Commitment.

Hand size affects assembly
I found some steps fiddly with adult hands; smaller fingers made certain fastenings easier.

Entertaining and engaging
A worthwhile gift for teens — gets them away from screens and into hands-on building. Good quality pieces and useful tools; many extra plans are available online. I recommend it.

Very pleased overall
Prompt delivery and good value. My first model took about six hours to complete with no prior experience — challenging but fair. Only three models are in the printed guide, so you’ll need online plans for the rest.

Disappointed by many plastic parts
I expected more metal; most parts are plastic while only screws, nuts and a few small brackets are metal. The motor includes lights but feels less robust than older motors, and some gear fittings are fiddly. If you want a very heavy-duty vintage feel, this isn’t quite it.

Check the motor before group builds
Bought two for a build challenge. Parts and packaging were excellent, but one motor did not run. Because the motor is central to the model, testing it early would have avoided disappointment.

Modern take on a classic
A nostalgic choice updated for today. Assembly is simple and enjoyable to do with kids. Parts are plastic but functional. Not as complex as older sets, but still highly entertaining for family builds.
