HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial Rebuild Model Kit (The Witch from Mercury)
Product description
This High Grade 1/144 injection-molded plastic kit recreates the repaired Gundam Aerial as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury using a brand-new mold. The kit is produced with a mix of opaque and clear plastic components plus adhesive-backed stickers to reproduce fine markings.
The large shield splits into 11 individual bit staves that can be attached to several connection points on the mobile suit to reproduce action poses and configurations from the series. The shell unit is rendered using a combination of in-mold colored parts, clear components, and supplied stickers so you can assemble it in either a luminous-style appearance or a non-illuminated look depending on preference. Beam components are molded in transparent material for a convincing energy effect.
The bespoke beam rifle is modular: its barrel length can be altered by recombining parts, and you can attach all bit staves to form the Gambit/Gunbit rifle arrangement. The kit arrives without the need for glue; snap-fit construction is standard HG practice. For clean removal of runners and neater seams, a hobby nipper and light sanding are recommended.
Set contents include: 2 beam saber handles, 1 beam rifle (modular barrel pieces), 1 shield (comprised of separable bit staves), 1 set of clear shell unit parts, and 1 sheet of stickers. As a licensed Bandai Namco item with the official label, this product has been evaluated for compliance with North American consumer product safety requirements and is eligible for manufacturer product support.

VerdictA highly detailed HG 1/144 kit that captures the repaired Gundam Aerial with many play and display options. It offers clear parts, multiple assembly modes, and modular weapon configurations, making it a rewarding build for newcomers and collectors alike.

Lightweight and simple to build
For a first gunpla this was pretty easy to assemble. It’s lightweight compared to action figures, which I expected, and the build was pleasant.

Very detailed and tidy fit
This High Grade series stands out for its fine detailing. Foil-like stickers covered by clear pieces elevate the look and the model snaps together solidly.

Highly detailed HG with minimal stickers
All the Witch From Mercury High Grades are very detailed and this one is no exception. Excellent color separation with only a couple of stickers needed—one for the visor and a few for the arm cannon. Quality kit.

Another strong Witch From Mercury release
A solid take on the Aerial rebuild—different styling choices from other releases but still a great kit overall.

Recommended, though a bit costly
I recommend this kit; it’s a rewarding build. It does carry a bit of a premium, but you get good detail and clear parts.

Great kit with a few fit issues
Fantastic value and faithful to the show’s abilities. The stickers offer styling choices. I struggled with two chest pieces whose placement wasn’t obvious; edges needed sanding for a smooth fit. The basic rifle can pull the hand down since it’s a bit heavy, and some Gund-bit connectors sit a little loose in places.

Love the color scheme and blades
A lovely addition to my shelf. The paint scheme pops and the purple/green blade elements are striking. It’s a bit chunky which limits extreme poses and it only ships with three hand options, yet it feels durable and enjoyable to pose.

Solid starter Gundam with a minor flaw
Perfect for a first build—fun without being overwhelming. My unit had a loose head peg that allowed the head to fall off, but other joints were solid. Seems like a rare production issue rather than common.

One of my new favorites — excellent features
I’d give this kit a full five stars. The silhouette and articulation are excellent, and it comes with plenty of accessories and clever details like forearm-mounted beam saber storage. I ended up buying a second box to customize it with additional cannons and beam guns to match my personal vision. I skipped most of the stickers and painted parts of the neck for a different color scheme; some markings for inside the chest are included but I missed applying them during assembly.
