CR Touch Auto Bed Leveling Kit — Replacement Sensor for Ender/CR 3D Printers
Product description
The CR Touch kit is a proprietary bed-leveling solution developed to extend automatic leveling across different print surfaces. Engineers optimized the probe for use on PEI sheets, glass, metal plates and other common build surfaces, aiming to provide stable, repeatable probing across varied materials.
This upgraded model swaps the original plastic probe for a metal plunger to reduce wear. The manufacturer rates the probe for a very high cycle life — more than 100,000 triggers under normal use — and claims a more durable feel compared with earlier designs. The sensor uses multi-point probing and applies smart compensation to the Z plane to improve first-layer consistency.
The kit is advertised as low-power with high precision and broad board compatibility, though it is intended for machines equipped with 32-bit mainboards (examples include V4.2.2 and V4.2.7-class Creality boards). It ships with three different mounting brackets to fit a variety of Ender and CR frames and offers a plug-style connector cable for attachment.
Package contents: CR Touch leveling module (1), three mounting brackets, one 1 m connector cable, three cable ties, two M3×8 screws and two M3×6 screws. Typical use involves mounting the sensor to the X-carriage, flashing or adjusting firmware to enable the probe, setting the Z-offset and letting the printer perform a multi-point mesh or mesh-based compensation routine before printing.
Pros
- Metal probe for greater longevity
- Works on glass, PEI and metal build plates
- Includes multiple brackets and all fasteners
Cons
- Requires firmware changes on many printers
- Some units may have inconsistent triggering
- Not compatible with 8-bit boards without extra work
VerdictA solid auto-bed-leveling upgrade that improves repeatability on many Creality-style machines with 32-bit boards. The metal probe boosts longevity and the kit includes multiple mounts for a range of frames. Installation and firmware tweaks are required for some setups; reliability varies by unit and user experience.

Reliable and easy to use
Setup was straightforward and the sensor performed consistently during my initial prints.

Good value upgrade
Enabled my Ender 3 to self-calibrate. Solid improvement for the cost and easy to live with.

Simple printer upgrade
Installed as an upgrade and it worked as expected — added auto-leveling without fuss.

Good replacement for a failed sensor
I bought this to replace a dead probe on an Ender V3 SE. It arrived as a full kit rather than a single sensor, but the extra mounts and hardware made installation painless and it now handles bed probing well.

Peter croughs 5/5
Solid metal probe, quick fit
Metal plunger feels sturdy, installs in minutes and matched the BLTouch footprint on my CR-20 Pro without firmware changes.

Does the job as a replacement
Bought as a spare because I accidentally broke the probe stem. Since the stem isn’t sold separately I replaced the whole unit and it works fine.

Took a lot of tinkering
Uses a 5-pin cable and prebuilt firmware targets Creality boards. I had to hunt down compatible firmware and rewire the connector; after work it still failed to respond reliably.

Frustrating installation experience
After flashing firmware my Ender 5 Pro became unreliable. Multiple errors popped up and it took weeks of troubleshooting to get close to working — not plug-and-play for everyone.
-
Joleme 1/5
Unreliable triggering
The probe triggers only intermittently for me and sometimes causes print skew when it fails to detect the bed properly.

Makes bed leveling painless
Once installed and set up in firmware and slicer start-GCODE, the kit automates bed leveling so you get a correct first layer every print.

Compatibility and noise issues
Package claims 32-bit compatibility only; mine rattled in the housing and blinked during long prints. If you’re not comfortable editing firmware, this may be frustrating.
