Vetericyn Plus Hot Spot Spray — 3 oz Soothing Pet Hot-Spot Treatment
Product description
What it is:
Vetericyn Plus Hot Spot Spray is a pH-balanced, hypochlorous-based topical solution packaged in a 3 oz spray bottle intended for treating localized skin irritations on companion and farm animals.
Ingredients and safety:
The formulation is non-toxic and free of alcohol, steroids and antibiotics. It’s designed to be non-irritating and non-sensitizing, and is considered safe if the animal licks the area after application. The solution is suitable for a wide range of skin types across species and is recommended by veterinarians for managing minor hotspots and surface irritation.
How it’s used:
Apply the spray directly to the affected area several times a day as needed to cleanse and soothe lesions caused by biting, chewing, scratching or licking. Because the product is pH balanced and non-stinging, it can be applied without causing additional discomfort. The spray format allows treatment without excessive handling of a sore spot, and it may be used alongside other topical care when advised by a vet.
Pros
- pH-balanced, non-stinging hypochlorous formula
- Free of alcohol, steroids and antibiotics
- Safe if the animal licks the treated area
Cons
- Not a substitute for veterinary antibiotics in serious infections
- May not work for deeper or chronic lesions
- Some users report residue on heavily soiled wounds
VerdictA gentle, veterinarian-recommended topical spray that uses stabilized hypochlorous technology to soothe and support healing of localized skin irritations. Users report visible improvement within days for many hotspot and allergy-related lesions, and the alcohol- and steroid-free formula is non-sensitizing and safe for animals that groom themselves. While it won’t replace veterinary care for severe

Quick relief for red, licked paws
My dog’s feet went from very red to a healthy pink in about two days. She stays still when I spray her paws, which tells me it’s soothing. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

Fast improvement for my Shih Tzu
Spots on my Shih Tzu showed marked improvement within three days. Cost-effective compared to a clinic visit. I used a soft inflatable collar to stop her licking; her reaction was allergy-related to yard blooms.

Worked better than I expected
I kept this on hand after a rough vet visit and used it when a new spot began. We clipped the hair and sprayed the area 3–4 times daily. Within a few days the lesion cleared up on its own, my dog didn’t bother licking it, and the solution didn’t sting or leave an oily film. The spray delivery made treatment quick and less stressful.

Impressive results despite late arrival
It earned four stars only because it arrived a day late and my dog had to wait an extra day. Once we started, the hotspot began drying up in under 48 hours and she scratched much less. The product itself seems to work very well.

Dog mom approves
After a previous bad experience at the clinic I bought this to avoid another trip. When a hotspot started we shaved and applied it a few times daily as directed and it resolved in days. No smell, no greasy residue, and my dog wasn’t interested in licking the treated spot. The spray works well and is simple to keep in the medicine cabinet.

Calmed a nasty infection quickly
My dog had a painful, oozing hotspot at the tail base after swimming in a dirty river. I sprayed generously and the dog was visibly soothed almost immediately. I used it several times a day and, combined with an ointment, the area healed in about five days without needing antibiotics.

Didn’t help my Rottweiler
I tried this for recurring hotspots on my Rottweiler’s neck but it seemed to gunk up the area and didn’t improve things. He ultimately needed a vet visit and antibiotics, so his condition may have been beyond what this spray can treat.

Very good product
Very good product — my dog had skin irritations and after a few days of treatment they were gone and the fur started to regrow.
