Tick Twister Tick Remover Duo (Small & Large)
Product description
The Tick Twister set contains two molded plastic extractors: one sized for tiny, newly attached ticks and the other for larger or more engorged specimens. Each remover is formed with a narrow slot or “V” that slips between skin and tick and secures the parasite close to its mouthparts.
Developed by a French veterinarian, the tool is intended to extract the entire head and mouthparts without compressing the tick’s body, which helps lower the chance of forcing infectious material into the bite site. No alcohol, oils, or other chemicals are required: the device relies on a gentle twisting and lifting motion to disengage the tick.
The pieces are lightweight plastic and can be attached to a key ring for storage and easy access. They are recommended for use on dogs, cats, horses and people — anywhere a tick may embed. The set includes both the small and large remover to handle a range of tick sizes, and instructions show how to seat the tick in the slot and rotate until it releases.
Users report the tool is quick to deploy and effective at removing mouthparts intact, leaving a minor puncture that can be cleaned with antiseptic. Because the extractors avoid squeezing the tick’s abdomen, they aim to minimize contamination risk during removal.
Pros
- Two sizes to handle tiny to engorged ticks
- Non-chemical, simple twist-and-lift action
- Compact, key-ring friendly and portable
Cons
- Plastic construction can feel flimsy to some
- Small slots can be tricky on awkward locations
- May require a steady hand or magnification for tiny ticks
VerdictThis compact duo offers a straightforward mechanical approach to tick removal: slide the appropriate-sized tool under the parasite, twist, and lift it out whole. The design aims to avoid squeezing the tick’s abdomen or leaving mouthparts behind, and the lightweight plastic pieces are easy to carry on a key ring. It’s simple to use on pets and people, suitable for both very small and larger attache

Functional and effective
So far both the large and small tools work well, especially after walks in grassy areas. They’ve been reliable for quick checks and removals.

A lifesaver for a 'tick magnet'
I live in the woods and attract ticks constantly. With a magnifying glass and headlamp, I slid the tiny tool into the smallest notch and twisted as instructed. It removed the head and mouthparts even for a tick that’d been attached several hours. Follow the directions and stay calm — it really does work.

Basic, comes with multiple pieces
A straightforward tick removal tool. The package includes two pieces, giving options for different tick sizes and extra spares.

Works but could use a tweak
The tool does the job if you can get the tick into the slot. I’d like a single tool with two different sized ends and a slightly larger, longer opening to make it easier to capture the tick, especially for fidgety pets or awkward spots.

Handy for outdoor dogs and owners
We moved into a tick-heavy area and our dog runs through brush daily. The twisters are so much simpler than tweezers and much quicker, which our dog appreciates. We keep one set in the truck and one at home so they’re always available when we check for hitchhikers.

I won't go back to tweezers
I used tweezers for years and kept ticks in bags worrying about Lyme. This tool is painless and far easier to use. I was unsure about the twisting motion at first, but it pulls the tick out right at the base. The pack includes a small and a large remover; I only wish it came with a storage pouch.

A long-term tick handler's go-to
After decades hunting and dealing with ticks, I’d tried many methods with mixed results. I found a tick on my dog, used the larger tool with a headlamp, slipped it under the tick, rotated a couple turns, and it came out intact. It wasn’t crushed or torn apart — just a small bite that I cleaned with antiseptic. Very effective and gentle.

Dependable and user-friendly
Bought these for a rough tick season and have used them on myself and my daughter multiple times. They remove the tick cleanly without crushing it and are easier to use than tweezers. We didn’t leave parts behind and will keep using them.

Simple to use and works reliably
We live where ticks are everywhere and my husband brings them home often. These plastic extractors surprised me with how well they work. Flatten the skin, position the head of the tool toward the tick, slide under, then twist until it pops free. We’ve used them around sensitive spots like the eyes and all over the body. I bought backups and gifted extras.

Highly recommended by a grooming pro
My dog groomer removed two ticks effortlessly and I had to bring a pair home. I kept one and gifted the other. They’ve worked on tricky spots like near the eye and on the lips and always came out with the head attached. Very pleased.

Made tick removal so much easier
I loathe ticks. My cat became infested after I moved here and I learned to remove dozens over the years. Even when a tiny tick latched in the eyelid crease — a terrifying spot for tweezers — this tool handled it with minimal fuss. It was quick, secure, and I didn’t have to fumble around near the eye. A real timesaver when your pet is anxious.

Saved us lots of hassle with our puppy
Our young pup kept bringing ticks home. We tried oils and other home remedies with no luck. These twisters made removal fast and calm — simply slide between skin and tick, twist, and give a gentle tug. No drama, no pain, and much easier than trying tweezers on a squirming puppy.
