450-Piece Rocks & Gemstones Collection for Kids — Crystals Kit
Product description
What you get: The package is billed at approximately 450–500 individual stones totaling about 2.5 lb. It includes no less than 1.5 lb of polished chip crystals representing at least 40 different types and roughly 1 lb of small natural raw stones covering at least 25 different types.
Specimens and materials: The assortment spans many common and semi-precious minerals, for example amethyst, lapis lazuli, rose quartz, tiger's eye, green aventurine, red jasper, clear quartz, sodalite, citrine, ruby in zoisite, amazonite, opal, labradorite, smoky quartz, rainbow fluorite, mahogany obsidian, garnet, snowflake obsidian, yellow jasper, dalmatian jasper, strawberry quartz and similar varieties. Pieces are a mix of polished chips and rough fragments rather than curated, labeled samples.
Sizes and shapes: Polished chips are small, approximately 0.2–0.5 inches across. The natural rough stones are larger, about 0.3–0.8 inches. Shapes are irregular and vary widely, so you’ll receive many tiny, palm-sized, and in-between pieces rather than uniform shapes.
How to use it: The collection is intended for educational exploration, rock and mineral identification practice, craft projects, jewelry making, tumbler media, party mining activities, pocket stones, gifting, home décor, vase or candle fillers, and meditation or chakra use. Because the polish quality and cuts vary, many buyers use the smaller or imperfect pieces as filler for tumblers or creative projects rather than display-grade specimens.
Packaging notes: Items arrive mixed and unlabeled; the range is random and meant to give a broad sampling of types rather than a guaranteed list of named specimens.
Pros
- Large quantity and substantial total weight
- Wide range of mineral types for learning and crafts
- Useful for party activities, tumbling, and decoration
Cons
- Finish and polish quality vary significantly
- Many irregular or cut pieces look like project leftovers
- No labeling or systematic identification included
VerdictThis set delivers a large, affordable mix of tumbled and raw specimens suitable for hands-on learning, crafting, and party activities. The weight and piece count are generous and the selection includes many recognizable minerals. Expect uneven polish and a range of irregular shapes — some stones look like leftover cuts — so it’s best for education, decoration, or as material for further tumbling r

Lovely discovery for craft projects
Attractive stones in many shapes and sizes. The mix of raw and partly polished pieces is fun to work with. Two small geodes were a pleasant surprise. Great for crafts.

Fantastic for a 'mining' party activity
Used these in a DIY mining station for my son's Minecraft party. Filled a bin with sand and little pouches, added toy shovels and ID cards, and the kids loved digging for gems. There were plenty left over to use later as favors.

Great non-candy Easter fillers
Perfect as an alternative to candy in eggs. Many pieces are tiny so you can tuck several into one egg.

Some pieces feel like leftovers
A fair portion of the polished bits appear to be scraps or oddly cut fragments rather than freshly tumbled stones. I repurposed many as tumbler filler. The two geodes were nice, but the set overall wasn’t the uniformly finished assortment I had expected.
