LBY Chicago Binding Screw Post Kit — 100 M5 Phillips Screws (10–50mm)
Product description
This kit contains nickel-plated metal Chicago screws (also called binding posts or book screws) intended for binding and fastening. The finish is silver and the surface treatment is nickel plating to resist rust and wear.
Contents: 100 pieces total — 50 screw barrels (tops) and 50 mating screw posts. The posts come in five lengths to fit different thicknesses of material: M5 x 10 mm, M5 x 20 mm, M5 x 30 mm, M5 x 40 mm, and M5 x 50 mm. Each length is supplied as 10 posts, and there are 50 tops to match.
Material and color: made from metal with a nickel-plated silver finish for a clean appearance and basic corrosion protection. The M5 thread size is standard for light to medium binding tasks.
Uses: designed for photo albums, recipe books, document binding, leatherwork such as saddles and purses, small repairs, and other projects that require removable, neat-looking fasteners. The assortment lets you select the post length that matches the stack of pages or layers being joined.
Packaging: pieces are supplied together in a compartmented container that keeps the different lengths organized for easy selection and storage.
Notes on fit: because each set pairs a barrel with a screw post, they work best when the post itself spans the material thickness. If your design relies on an exceptionally long screw shank extending through many layers, check the thread depth and shank length before committing to use.
Pros
- Five lengths cover a range of material thicknesses
- Durable nickel-plated metal resists corrosion
- Comes in a tidy, organized kit with 100 pieces
Cons
- Thread depth is limited compared with some specialty posts
- Screw shank may be too short for heavily layered projects
- No sizes beyond 50 mm included in this set
VerdictA practical, well-organized assortment for hobbyists and light trade work. The nickel-plated metal is durable and corrosion-resistant, and the five length options cover many material thicknesses. Ideal when the post must be the main fastener; less suitable if you need a very long screw shank or deep internal threading.

Shank and thread depth too short for my cosplay build
I tried these in a cosplay wig project where the screw needed to pass through batting and wire to reach a glued post inside a bulky accessory. The 5 mm shank wasn’t long enough, and the internal thread depth is only about 10 mm, so a 10 mm screw barely engaged. Great when the post itself spans the material, but not ideal if you need an extended screw.

Highly recommend
I tested them and they perform very well. Quality is good; I simply ordered the wrong size for my needs and will buy larger ones next time. The product and seller service were reliable. I recommend this kit.

Used to secure a sliding glass door lock
I used one of these posts to hold a lock on a sliding glass door. Quality feels solid and the storage case keeps the pieces separated and easy to find. Having multiple lengths meant I could pick the perfect size for the door frame thickness. If I’d known about a full set like this earlier I would have saved time hunting for pairs.

Arrived on time and well packed
Delivery was prompt and the pieces were nicely packaged. The storage box is convenient for keeping everything organized. I would like even longer sizes (up to around 10 cm) available, but the included posts are solid and useful.

Good material, could use deeper threads
Overall a good product. It would be helpful if the posts had more thread depth so the screw engagement is deeper and won’t loosen under movement. Aside from that, the construction is sound.

Learning curve on combining posts
I gave four stars because I misunderstood the product — you can’t reliably stack two posts to create a longer single post. I wanted them for very thick genealogy scrapbooks and hoped to extend length by joining pieces. The supplied lengths are useful, but if you need one continuous long post you’ll have to look elsewhere. Still, the variety is handy.

Perfect for expanding scrapbooks
The selection of lengths makes expanding post-bound scrapbooks simple. I can add many pages without worrying about running out of space — I just choose the post length that fits the new stack. Works exactly as needed for album projects.

Great for plans and quick fixes
These fasteners are excellent for binding large sets of plans. I also used one to repair a bent awning slider part; instead of reshaping the original pin I replaced it with a screw from this kit and secured it with thread-locking adhesive. Sturdy and versatile.

Surpassed my expectations
I needed extenders to add pages to an old scrapbook and purchased this set. They arrived well packaged with smaller parts in tiny resealable bags inside the case and clear labels for each length. The posts are sturdy, easy to use, and the kit even included a small screwdriver. Highly satisfied with the purchase.
