High-Temp FKM Infrared Thermometer Gun — -58°F to 3272°F, 50:1
Product description
High-precision high-temperature IR gun: This model uses FKM construction in a design meant for demanding surface measurements. It covers -58°F to 3272°F (-50°C to 1800°C) with a stated accuracy of ±2% and features a 50:1 distance-to-spot ratio plus 13-point laser aiming so you can target smaller areas from a safer distance.
Adjustable emissivity and multiple modes: The device supports emissivity adjustment from 0.1 to 0.99 to better match different surface finishes. It offers MAX, MIN, DIF, AVG, HAL and LAL measurement modes and lets you enable high/low alarms to catch anomalies quickly. The digital infrared sensor helps compensate for surface properties to improve reading fidelity across materials.
Applications and limits: Designed for surface temperature checks only — ideal for grilling, deep frying, candy work, pool/spa maintenance, kiln and forge monitoring, engine and metalwork inspections, HVAC diagnostics and other DIY or industrial tasks. It measures a very broad range from frozen food surfaces to extreme kiln/forge temperatures. It should not be used for measuring human or animal body temperature.
Fast, non-contact readings: The thermometer returns measurements in about 0.5 seconds, allowing quick scans of dangerous or hard-to-reach equipment without physical contact. This makes routine checks faster and safer when dealing with hot machinery or electrical components.
Display and data features: A full-view backlit LCD provides clear readout and one-touch °F/°C switching. The unit includes a 15-second auto-off, low-battery indicator, an audible buzzer toggle and historical data storage — press STO to review up to 55 past measurements for trend tracking and brief analysis.
Package contents and support: The kit ships with the digital infrared thermometer, a carrying toolbox, 2 × AA batteries and a user manual. Customer support is available for technical or quality questions, with responses typically provided within 24 hours. Remember: this tool is intended for surfaces only, not for clinical or veterinary use.
Temperature equilibration tip: For best accuracy, allow the instrument to acclimate to the ambient environment before use. If the surrounding temperature has changed significantly, let the device sit about 30 minutes so its internal temperature matches the testing conditions before taking measurements.
Pros
- Extremely wide temperature range with stated ±2% accuracy
- Long 50:1 distance-to-spot ratio and 13-point laser aiming
- Adjustable emissivity and 55-record memory for tracking
Cons
- Surface measurements only — not for body or internal temps
- May not replace lab-grade instruments for precision work
- Learning emissivity settings is necessary for best accuracy
VerdictA capable surface thermometer for demanding heat tasks. It combines a very wide measurement range and tight stated accuracy with a long-distance 50:1 D:S ratio and 13-point laser aiming to focus on small targets from farther away. Fast response, adjustable emissivity and several display/mode conveniences make it useful for kilns, forges, grills, HVAC, automotive and general workshop use. It’s not

Makes temperature checks quick and even enjoyable
Super easy to use—point, pull the trigger and read. I use it to compare sun vs. shade in my garden and to spot-check multiple aquariums. I can scan dozens of tanks in minutes to spot heater failures. My previous unit lasted a decade, so this is a must-have for me.

Stops the worry about cold spots
I won’t heat the griddle without checking it first. Gives me confidence every time—love how handy it is.

Handy for kitchen and home checks
I use it for pans, ovens, grills and checking outdoor surfaces to troubleshoot heating/cooling. Fast readings and a clear backlit display. Batteries included was convenient. Out-of-the-box accuracy is fine for everyday use, though it’s not for precise lab-level measurements. Also remember it reads surfaces, not internal food temps.

Useful for cookware temperature monitoring
Great for ensuring nonstick pans stay within safe temperatures. The large lit display is much easier to read than older units I’ve owned. I’ve also measured air from vents and liked the area-reading laser markers. The trigger feels a bit flimsy, so I’m watching how it holds up, but overall very pleased.
