Cleaning
Goo Gone Oven & Grill Cleaner — 28 oz Foaming Spray
Product description
This product is supplied as a 28-ounce aerosol can of foam cleaner designed specifically for ovens and grills. The formula produces a thick foam that adheres to vertical and horizontal surfaces so it can sit and penetrate without running off.
It is intended for use on self-cleaning and non-self-cleaning ovens as well as stainless-steel interiors. The label lists indoor and outdoor grills, oven racks, pots and pans, burner drip pans, rotisserie pieces and toaster ovens among suitable uses.
The chemistry is formulated to break down grease, food residue and carbon deposits by softening and dissolving baked-on soils so they can be wiped away. The cleaner is described as low-odor and biodegradable, avoiding the strong fumes of many industrial-strength products.
According to the product information, the spray is surface-safe on most kitchen finishes when used as directed. The cans are manufactured in the United States.
Pros
- Foam clings to surfaces for effective dwell time
- Low odor and biodegradable formula
- Works on many oven and grill parts
Cons
- May require multiple applications on heavy carbon
- Nozzle produces a narrow blob-like spray
- Not as aggressive as industrial-strength cleaners
VerdictA clingy foam cleaner that effectively loosens baked-on grease and burned food in many cases. It’s low-odor and formulated to be surface-safe on most kitchen finishes, and it handles oven racks, grills, drip pans and accessories well. Performance can require repeat applications on heavily carbonized spots, and the spray pattern may frustrate some users, but overall it’s a practical, safer-odour op

Cleans well but spray is awkward
Cleaning strength is solid and odors are minimal, but the spray emits small globs instead of a wide mist. That makes covering large surfaces tedious and requires many pumps.

Removed melted plastic residue
Used it on melted plastic that stuck to my oven bottom. After about ten minutes the residue softened and wiped away much easier than by scrubbing alone.

Powerful and simple to use
Spray, wait 2–4 minutes, then wipe. Removed caked grease that resisted scrubbing with other cleaners. Easiest effective cleaner I’ve used.

Excellent for greasy ovens
Excellent for ovens covered in heavy grease and dirt.

Great degreaser, awkward nozzle
Dissolves caked-on grease quickly and isn’t overly harsh, but the narrow stream makes foam spots where you spray. I wear gloves and spread it by hand to even coverage.

Saved my oven after a lasagna disaster
I found this after a terrible lasagna spill and it removed gunk from the glass, racks and oven floor. I pre-soaked large blobs then sprayed, let it sit, and wiped away grime with little odor. Great for messy cooks—gave my oven a new life.

Slow, steady results
Not instant, but it worked on stuck pasta sauce on my glass cooktop after several applications. Progress was gradual but noticeable.

May need repeat applications
Works well but really baked-on deposits may require multiple treatments. Use gloves; white vinegar will neutralize if it contacts skin.

Only removes surface grime
Effective on fresh or superficial stains with scrubbing, but it didn’t handle deep, long-baked deposits as well as stronger oven cleaners.

Good for trays and pans, use caution
Cleans trays, grills and nonstick pans without scraping. Not as chemically aggressive as some heavy-duty sprays, but still wear gloves and ventilate since it can irritate skin and has a strong smell up close.

Racks cleaned, oven floor still stubborn
It returned racks to a bright finish after other methods failed, but it didn’t remove baked-on foil or heavy side splatters. Helpful for racks but limited on very tough oven floors.
