16-Inch Vertical Outdoor Wall Thermometer — Weather-Resistant Gauge
Product description
Tall 16-inch vertical thermometer with a clear dual-scale dial showing both Fahrenheit and Celsius. The display ranges from -40°F to 120°F (-40°C to 50°C), making it suitable for year-round outdoor monitoring.
This analog unit requires no batteries, apps, or pairing — it arrives ready to hang and works immediately. The thermometer consists of a molded plastic housing with a glass temperature tube filled with a visible red alcohol column. The housing is weather-resistant for covered exterior use and ships with mounting screws for wall, fence, post, shed, garage, greenhouse, porch or patio installation.
Because the thermometer uses a narrow glass tube, readings are most legible when viewed from the correct angle; the tall design improves resolution but the viewing window is limited. For best accuracy, mount the gauge in a shaded, sheltered spot away from direct sunlight and radiant heat sources. The glass tube can be repositioned if minor calibration adjustments are needed, though it is set at the factory for typical conditions.
Pros
- Large, easy-to-read dual °F/°C display
- Works without batteries or maintenance
- Weather-resistant plastic housing with screws included
Cons
- Narrow viewing angle for the glass column
- Plastic construction may feel less premium
- May require minor calibration for exact accuracy
VerdictA simple, large-format analog thermometer that delivers an easy-to-read temperature display without batteries or electronics. It includes mounting hardware, shows Fahrenheit and Celsius across a wide -40°F to 120°F (-40°C to 50°C) span, and is built for sheltered outdoor mounting. Expect a narrow viewing angle inherent to the glass tube design; a bit of calibration or repositioning can correct sma

Useful outdoor gauge
Solid tool for checking temperatures outdoors.

Stopped working after a few weeks
Couldn’t read it well unless standing directly in front, and after a few weeks the red column faded and no longer shows a clear reading. Disappointed after short use.

Packaging overkill, product OK
The box it came in seemed excessive, but the thermometer itself functions as expected.

Large and clear if you’re in the right spot
Good deck thermometer — tall and magnifies the liquid column, but you must view it from the correct angle. Height gives better resolution, yet if you can’t stand in the right place you won’t see the red line. Can be adjusted in the housing if you need to tweak the reading.

Finally a reliable old-school gauge
Tired of erratic dial and digital units, this glass thermometer arrived accurate out of the box versus a lab laser thermometer. It mounts easily and holds a consistent linear response through typical ranges. Narrow viewing angle is expected, but I prefer a trusted reading over quick approximate numbers.

Big, clear numbers but reads slightly high
Chose this model for visibility. Both units I tried show temperatures about 1.5–2°F higher than my other thermometers. The offset is steady, so once known it’s easy to account for. Size and legibility are excellent.

Off at first, but adjustable and visible
Initially read 6°F low in ice-water testing. The glass tube is glued but can be nudged with steady pressure and re-glued for calibration. The red column is broad and visible from several feet away.

Easy to read from inside the house
Mounted near a kitchen patio door and the size makes it simple to read indoors. I calibrated it against my thermostat and found about a 1°C difference, which could be due to either device. Overall satisfied with clarity and mounting options.

More than satisfied
Read reviews first but my unit was accurate. Mounted in a horse barn and readable from distance. The supplied screws held up even with potential knocks. Size is exactly what I wanted and it tracked a wide temperature swing accurately.

Does what it should
Simple outdoor thermometer that tells the temperature at a glance. Matches smartphone weather to within about a degree where I placed it. Bright numbers and easy installation.

Consistent readings and easy to read
I purchased two and they matched each other and a digital thermometer I checked them against. The size makes them simple to read at a distance, and the plastic body is fine for barn and garage use. I mount in shade to avoid sun bias; these do the job and won’t rust.

Accurate and pleasantly simple
I bought two and mounted one near my back door. They’re surprisingly consistent when compared with an older certified mercury stick — both matched each other closely. The numbers are large enough to read from the correct viewing spot. I like having a basic analog gauge instead of another battery-powered gadget. They arrived in plain cardboard without padding, but both work well.
