PU Foam Greatsword for Medieval Cosplay & LARP — Full-Size Prop
Product description
This prop draws its silhouette from historic two-handed war blades used in the Middle Ages and later periods. Those swords were designed to defeat shields, cut through mail, and impair heavily armored opponents; this replica echoes that long, commanding form while remaining suitable for reenactment and performance.
The package contains the full-size foam greatsword only. It is constructed from high-quality PU foam and finished with paint that mimics steel for a believable visual effect. Overall dimensions are 43.7" long, 9" wide at the widest point, and about 1.6" thick.
The build favors a balance between realism and safety: the blade reads like metal at a glance but is soft enough for costuming and choreographed combat. It’s light enough to carry for extended periods, yet firm enough to keep its shape during handling and display.
This sword works well as a theatrical prop, for Halloween costumes, cosplay, LARP sessions, and display in a game room or office corner. It can be wielded for staged fighting and photoshoots, and it also functions as a decorative accent when propped against a wall or on a rack.
Note: ancillary items shown in promotional images, such as shields or stands, are not included with the sword and must be sourced separately.
Because of its size and foam thickness, small finishing trims from the molding process might need a light cleanup on arrival to achieve a pristine edge.
Pros
- Realistic steel-look finish
- Durable, firm PU foam construction
- True full-size presence for cosplay and display
Cons
- Large and somewhat cumbersome to carry
- Tip can be less rigid than the blade body
- May require minor trimming of mold flash
VerdictA convincing full-size prop that balances visual authenticity with safe, lightweight construction. It’s sturdy enough for costumes and stage work, offers a realistic finish, and makes an eye-catching display piece, though it can feel bulky and the tip is slightly less robust than the rest.

Great for Cosplay and Photos
Perfect for costume use. Stiff foam yet light; it reads as real until you pick it up. At about 40" it reaches my rib cage (I’m 5'6").

Looks very authentic and photographed well. Would be nicer with a display stand included, but still a solid purchase.

Very Convincing Finish
The finish is nicely done. Being foam makes it robust, and it even carries a little weight, which helps the illusion.

Nice Finish, Small Touch-Ups
Good appearance and weight. I removed a few tiny production bits, but otherwise a solid product.

Well Made, Minor Cleanup Needed
Very impressed with the construction and paint. It has a good heft for foam and matches a bastard sword profile. I only had to trim a few small flashing bits from the mold.

Realistic Look, Noticeably Big
Exactly what I wanted: realistic without being dangerous. Heavy-looking but safe. Be aware it’s quite large — it can brush boots on the hip, and the tip is not as sturdy as the spine.
