MRSDY 23-Inch Gooseneck Dynamic Podium Microphone
Product description
Clear vocal response: This dynamic gooseneck mic is voiced for speech, producing a warm, intelligible midrange that helps voices cut through ambient noise. It’s intended for spoken-word applications such as announcements, talkback and live PA.
Sturdy metal construction: The microphone uses an all-metal housing for improved wear resistance, shock tolerance and corrosion resistance, suited to repeated use in live settings and fixed podium installations.
Flexible two-section gooseneck: The tube is built in two segments for a wide range of adjustment — it can rotate around and be bent up to 90° without fatiguing easily, allowing speakers of different heights to place the capsule optimally.
Noise control: The capsule uses a cardioid polar pattern to emphasize the primary sound source while rejecting much of the room and stage noise. A foam windscreen is supplied to reduce plosives and breath noises.
XLR connectivity and wiring: The mic terminates in a male 3-pin XLR connector that plugs into standard microphone inputs on mixers and consoles. Because it’s a dynamic transducer, it operates without 48V phantom power.
Dimensions and use cases: The gooseneck measures about 23 inches (approximately 58 cm) overall, making it suitable for lecterns, press boxes, DJ talkback, webcasting and school PA systems. It’s designed for mixer-driven setups and straightforward live speech duties.

Solid podium dynamic — add a base
Combine it with a weighted base and it becomes a versatile podium mic, long enough to suit speakers of different heights. It’s a dynamic microphone and behaves as such.

Good replacement option
Replaced an old unit and it works well. I worried about the height at first, but it turned out fine.

Not as strong as brand-name unit
I preferred a longer gooseneck on my old brand. This one isn’t as loud as that original model.

Handy for sporting announcements
Used this from our press box for a high school baseball game and it worked very well. Feels solid and not cheap. The capsule isn’t huge and sits out of the way. No on/off switch, so muting is done at the board; it doesn’t pick up a lot from a few feet away, which helps. I’d suggest a windscreen — it picks up some breath sounds more than our handhelds.

Bigger than expected, great pickup
This mic is notably larger than our old podium mic — the barrel is thicker and the overall height is taller. It does taper to fit the existing mount, but the thicker head might push shorter presenters back a bit. For my 6' frame it hits mouth level. Sound pickup is excellent with no functional complaints.

Long reach and usable tone
I needed a very long mic to reach me while seated at the keyboard with a mixer behind it. This gooseneck nearly gets there; I added an 8-inch 3D-printed extension and a short XLR joiner to close the gap. It’s perfectly fine for practice — crisp and directional enough that the keyboard is mostly suppressed. I wouldn’t depend on it for a major performance, but for rehearsals it’s excellent and saved me from buying a separate boom.
