ABUS uGrip BORDO 5700 Folding Bike Lock — 3.2 ft, 5 mm Steel
Product description
The uGrip BORDO 5700 is a folding bicycle lock composed of 5 mm hardened steel links held together by special rivets. The chain measures roughly 3.2 feet when unfolded, offering enough reach to secure frame and wheel to a fixed object while still packing down small.
Security comes from a high-quality automatic cylinder built into a color-matched lock body; the cylinder locks automatically and is designed to withstand tampering. The links are connected with reinforced rivets that allow the segments to articulate smoothly while presenting a tough cutting surface.
A convenient transport mode (CTM) lets you fold and stow the lock quickly for immediate use at stops. The package includes the SH mounting bracket so the lock can be carried on the bike frame; because the lock is relatively heavy, secure mounting is recommended for comfortable rides. The design is available in several colors and the lock body is finished to match the link color.

- 5 mm hardened steel links with riveted joints
- Includes SH bracket and quick transport mode

VerdictThe uGrip BORDO 5700 is a sturdy folding lock that balances on-bike convenience with solid resistance against opportunistic thieves. Stopped an attempted theft
I replaced my old one after an attacker badly damaged it trying to cut through. They clearly tried hard but couldn't break it — it prevented the theft and saved my e-bike. I’d recommend it for solid everyday protection.

Quality build but heavy
Solid construction and smooth locking action, though it is somewhat heavy. I recommend fitting the supplied holder for comfortable rides.

Fell off on rough trails
After a bumpy ride the lock had dropped off my frame — the spring clip meant to hold it in the bracket failed. My partner’s lock slides in and never comes loose, so check the mount carefully.
