Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Corvette Grand Sport Buildable Model Kit
Product description
Piece count and scale
This kit is a multi-hundred–piece model (commonly reported around 918 parts) that constructs a 1:16 scale Corvette Grand Sport replica. The completed model is intended for display and hands-on customization rather than rough play.
What’s included
The package contains plastic building elements, a decal sheet, extra parts for alternate configurations, metal wheel covers, and a collectible 1:64 metal Hot Wheels-style car with a matching metal signature plate. Instruction booklets guide a step-by-step assembly and the set belongs to the Elite Series of collectible builds.
Materials and details
Most components are injection-molded ABS-style bricks; the set also incorporates metal details (wheel covers and the small 1:64 car/plate) for improved realism. The model includes authentic touches such as molded fenders, metallic-look exhaust pipes and a hinged hood that opens to reveal engine detail.
How it’s used
Builders follow the packeted build sequence to assemble the chassis and body, apply decals for trim and badging, and fit optional pieces to alter aerodynamics or styling. Finished models make attractive display pieces, and the brick elements are compatible with other major building-system brands for further modification or expansion.

Not suited to very young builders
Nice design but fragile for little hands. Pieces can break if treated roughly, so it’s best for older kids and adults.

Family project that delighted my grandson
Hard to track down at first, but worth the effort — the whole family pitched in to assemble it. It required patience and teamwork, and the final display made my grandson very happy.

This was a pleasure to build: well-written steps, some unique pieces, and a final model that captures the prototype’s lines without resorting to complex technic elements.

Great birthday gift — easy to enjoy
Bought this for my brother and he had a blast assembling it. It seems durable on display and straightforward to build once you’ve done similar kits before.

A stunning tribute with a tiny metal companion
Incredibly satisfying build — the finished Corvette looks fantastic and even includes a small matching metal car. Connection tolerances are tight and the model feels solid, though a few gray pieces showed minor finish streaks. Plenty of customization options and no missing parts in my kit.

A collector’s delight — technical and nostalgic
As a fan of the Elite Series, I spent several hours assembling the 918-piece Grand Sport and found the silhouette remarkably faithful. Curves are smooth for a brick model, engine bay assembly is rewarding, and while I prefer printed elements, the sticker sheet applies neatly for the final touches.

Solid first experience with Mattel bricks
This was my first build with Mattel’s blocks and the connections snap together firmly. Instructions are clear and familiar, extra pieces are provided, and the one-piece windshield is a nice touch. The build sequence is logical, and an optional final bag adds a spoiler and front aero bits if you want them.
