Pretend play
Children's Doctor Playset with Plush Puppy — Pretend Medical Kit (Ages 3–6)
Product description
What’s in the box: The set includes a plush puppy companion, a child-sized scrub-style coat and matching hat, a soft carrying tote, a stethoscope with a light feature, an adjustable thermometer, a toy syringe, tweezers, a small instrument tray, a dental mirror, a reflex hammer, scissors, plastic eyeglasses, an otoscope, and additional small accessories for examining and treating patients.
Materials and construction: Most instruments are molded from BPA-free ABS plastic with non-toxic paint. The coat and hat are made from polyester fabric with stitched seams and velcro closures for easy dressing. The tote is a lightweight fabric bag with stitched handles. The plush puppy is polyester fill with a soft polyester outer fabric and embroidered facial features.
Sizes and fit: The jacket is designed to fit most preschool children (approximate chest fit for ages 3–6) and is about 15–18 inches long when laid flat. The plush puppy measures roughly 7 inches from nose to tail. Tools range from about 3 to 6 inches long and are sized for small hands. The tote measures roughly 9 x 7 x 4 inches, making it easy for kids to carry the set.
How it’s used: Children can role-play as doctor, nurse, or patient, using the instruments to pretend-check temperature, listen to heartbeats, inspect ears and teeth, and practice simple first-aid scenarios. The set is intended for supervised imaginative play and parent-child activities to build conversational skills, relieve anxiety about real checkups, and encourage empathy.
Safety and care: Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. The outfit is machine-washable on a gentle cycle or can be spot cleaned. Recommended for ages 3 and up due to small parts; adult supervision is advised for younger children.
Pros
- Comprehensive selection of medical-themed accessories
- Includes a plush companion and dress-up outfit for added realism
- Lightweight, portable tote for easy cleanup and transport
Cons
- Most items are lightweight plastic and meant for gentle play
- Some electronic pieces depend on batteries and may fail
- Individual pieces are small and require supervision
VerdictThis playset delivers a wide range of kid-sized medical props and a soft companion for hours of pretend examinations. It’s well suited for preschoolers who enjoy imaginative, caregiver-role play and helps demystify doctor visits. While most pieces are plastic and geared for light play, the outfit and carry bag add to the realism. Overall, it’s a fun, educational toy that supports empathy and commu

Solid but a bit flimsy
I gave four stars because some pieces feel inexpensive, but the set held up long enough and both my three- and eight-year-old enjoyed it.

Mixed feelings — some parts faulty
There are many fun little items, but of the pieces that should light or make sounds, only one worked. Also, everything was over-packaged in tiny bags.

Missing several items
I did not receive many of the items shown. The coat, cap, mask and several accessories were missing, and a replacement still arrived incomplete.
