3-to-2 Prong Adapter Pack (3) — Snap-Pop Release, White
Product description
What’s included
This package contains three 3-to-2 prong plug adapters in white. Each unit accepts a three-prong (grounded) plug and presents a two-prong inlet for insertion into a standard two-slot receptacle.
Construction and ratings
Each adapter has a molded plastic body with metal prongs and a metal grounding strap/blade. They are rated 15 amps and 125 volts and intended for indoor electrical use only. The adapter provides a metal grounding tab that can be attached to the outlet cover screw to restore grounding continuity when the receptacle box and cover are properly grounded.
How to use
To use, insert the adapter into a two-slot outlet, then plug the three-prong cord into the adapter’s inlet. If you want to use the grounding feature, align the metal strap with the outlet cover screw and tighten so the strap makes contact with the grounded cover plate. The snap-pop release mechanism allows you to press a release to remove the adapter more easily than pulling straight out.
Safety and limitations
Do not use these adapters outdoors or in bathrooms or other damp locations. Grounding continuity must be confirmed before relying on the metal strap for protection — if the cover plate screw isn’t connected to a grounded box, the adapter will not provide a true earth ground. Avoid using if the adapter is damaged. For uncertain installations, consult a qualified electrician. These are intended for household and light-duty appliance use and are not a substitute for proper grounded wiring.
Pros
- Pack of three covers multiple outlets
- Snap-pop release eases disconnection
- Metal strap provides grounding option
Cons
- Grounding depends on cover plate being grounded
- Bulky strap or release can block adjacent sockets
- Not suitable for wet or outdoor use
VerdictThese adapters let you plug a three-prong device into a two-prong outlet while offering a metal grounding tab that can be fastened to a grounded cover plate. The snap-pop release makes removal easier than a fixed adapter, and a three-piece pack gives extra coverage. They are plastic-bodied with metal blades and are rated 15A/125V for indoor appliances and equipment. However, the grounding tab and

Good idea but won’t fit between duplex outlets
I liked the concept, but these won’t fit properly on a wall with stacked duplex sockets. The release lever is too wide to reach when a neighboring plug is installed, and the lower metal strap protrudes enough to cover part of the adjacent outlet. As a renter with limited working plugs, I needed more usable space and these blocked the next socket. Very disappointing — concept works, but the size makes them impractical for many wall plates.
